Susquehanna University has joined a worldwide campaign to protect African children from malaria. The SHUmanitarians and the Student Athletic Committee are raising money for Nothing but Nets, a grassroots campaign that works to prevent malaria by providing treated mosquito nets to children throughout Africa. Malaria – one of the world’s most common infectious diseases – affects over 500 million people every year and kills more than one million. Treated mosquito nets may reduce the chances of contracting the disease by 50 percent.
