NYU Holds Concert For AIDS Medication
Date: 11/17/2008 05:28 pm
Keep a Child Alive is hoping to battle AIDS by providing lifesaving antiretroviral (ARV) drugs to those in need. The New York University chapter of KCA hosted a free concert to raise awareness of the AIDS crisis and inform students how they can make a difference. Kate Otto, NYU's KCA president, asked students to “Become a Drug Dealer,” raising donations to provide ARVs to patients in Kenya, Ethiopia, Uganda, India, Rwanda, and South Africa. Antiretrovirals can cost less than a dollar a day, but they are often not accessible to those in need.
