On Student Governance

Most administrators, faculty, and student leaders can agree that quality student leadership is important. But many schools find that the formula for strong candidates and an invested electorate can be elusive. North Carolina State University’s student body elections are fast approaching, but many of the candidates are dropping out. Due to new regulations in effect this year, many students are discovering they are not qualified to run due to their GPAs. At Northeastern University, students say that with elections less than two weeks away, they do not feel well acquainted with the candidates.
