On the Agenda
A new controversy has been brewing at the University of Kentucky, where the Board of Trustees voted to restrict access to their meeting agendas, posting them at 9 a.m. on the day of the meeting. The new posting time gives the public four hours notice; traditionally the Board has posted their agendas four days in advance. The University has no plans to revisit the new posting schedule (which it enacted on the Trustees’ behalf). The Trustees were reportedly upset by agenda-previewing news articles that, in their opinion, made it seem as though decisions had already been made. The Student Government unanimously passed a resolution in response, asking the Trustees to reverse their decision.
