Although it may not be something you consider every day, plants are showing their influence in determining university funding. The University of California is considering severing its ties with tobacco, due to conflict of interest and ethical concerns. In Minnesota, the State Legislature is considering giving the University of Minnesota more than $2 million to research organics.
