A student at Middlebury College who was unhappy with recent changes to the college residence life program began a petition to voice her feelings—which has since garnered at least 349 signatures. But when the student used the all-campus email to promote the petition (a misuse of the system, as she did not have permission), she found herself facing disciplinary action. Because misuse of the all-campus email does not typically result in action, students are questioning whether the anti-administration content of the email sparked the disciplinary action.
