Sarah Kubik, a Wayne State
student, has started a citywide recycling program for Detroit called “recycleHere.” Fifteen months
ago, Kubick began her grassroots campaign to bring easily and efficient
recycling to the city, partnering with one other person to learn the most
effective recycling methods before launching recycleHere. Her organization (in
a joint venture with three private companies) is now contracted to handle all
recycling for the city of Detroit.
