Date: 11/17/2008 05:28 pm

Relay for Life events are going strong at campuses across the nation, helping to raise money for cancer research. At New York University, a carnival and battle of the bands kicked off an overnight walk to raise money for cancer research. Southern Methodist University marketing students used their Subaru marketing campaign to raise $500 to donate to the event, which happened later that evening. Students at Yale University participated in a “Marga-relay-ville” themed event. Students at Penn State University participated in the walk for cancer research despite the rainy and cold weather; students at the University of Texas also battled the rain, yet managed to raise raised $16,706. Students at the University of South Carolina raised more than $35,000.
