Colleges Against Cancer kicked off its annual Relay for Life campaign at the University of Illinois-Champaign. Relay for Life, an overnight fundraiser for the American Cancer Society challenges teams to have at least one member walking around an athletic track all night in order to raise money for cancer patients and their families. The campaign kicked off with the "I 'heart' Relay" concert, which featured performances from various campus groups, a cancer survivor speaker and a luminaria ceremony, where small lanterns are dedicated to people directly affected by cancer. Nearly 260 people attended.
