A housing shortage at Rutgers University is forcing the school to house students in a hotel for the entire academic year. After a surge in enrollment, Rutgers will house 500 students at a Crowne Plaza for the entire academic year. Longer term, the University's Board of Governors approved the funding for construction of two dormitories. The buildings are set to be completed by fall 2011 with rooms for about 2,000 students. A free shuttle to and from campus will be provided for students, and they will have access to amenities such as the hotel's pool and gym, cable and Internet access.
