More than 60 student groups at Baylor University will participate in Steppin’ Out Day, where more than 3,000 students perform various community services throughout the day in an effort to get outside the “Baylor Bubble.” Students in a history class at Southern Methodist University volunteer at a homeless shelter as part of their course requirements, which were created to give students a sense of empathy with people whose life situations are different than theirs.
