Date: 11/17/2008 05:28 pm
A resolution proposed by Illinois state Representative Lou Lang could have younger voters rocking the elections by November. Lang said he has noticed how the upcoming election has captured the interest of many young people. Consequently, the Illinois House of Representatives Elections and Campaign Reform Committee recently approved a resolution to lower the voting age in the state to 17. The resolution will need a three-fifths majority in both the Illinois state House and Senate to be passed, as it would require an amendment to the constitution.. If passed, 17 year olds could vote in the November presidential election!
