The U.S Department of Energy has selected a team of students from the University of Minnesota to participate in the third-annual Solar Decathlon. 20 college teams from around the world will unite in Washington D.C to design and build solar-powered homes. Construction plans are due in June and construction on the homes will begin next fall. Teams will have a couple days to assemble their projects and will be judged on 10 categories focused on energy efficiency, livability, and design.
