President Bush passed a bill called the College Opportunity and Affordability Act on August 14 that will require the Department of Education to post the names of the least affordable colleges and universities online. The web site will feature schools with the highest percentage of tuition and fee increase in a three-year period. The aim is to have colleges and universities lower their tuition in order to have their names removed from the list. The veritable “Wall of Shame” will be available by July 2011 on the National Center for Education Statistics’ College Navigator website.
