Stanford Students Defy State Trends
Date: 11/17/2008 05:28 pm
Although Democrat Hillary Clinton and Republican John McCain won the state of California’s primaries, exit polls at Stanford University revealed that Stanford students favored different candidates: Barack Obama and Ron Paul. The Illinois senator received almost 75 percent of the Democratic voters polled on-campus while Clinton only received about 23 percent of the student vote. The Republican votes went to Ron Paul, who won 46 percent while only 21 percent supported McCain. Princeton University saw a similar trend, with the bulk of Democratic students voting for Obama, while Republican voters did indeed support McCain.
