STUDENT ASSOCIATION FIGHTS FOR LOWER METRO FARES
Date: 11/17/2008 05:28 pm
Members of George Washington University’s Student Association are lobbying Washington D.C city government for a discount on Metro fares. Base Metro fares recently increased from $1.35 to $1.65 during rush hour and the cost of travel to distant stations has risen as well. GW’s Student Association is collaborating with neighboring campuses, and together they are working to convince the D.C City Council to adopt a student fare plan.
