Student Empowerment at Campus Progress National Conference

Date: 11/17/2008 05:28 pm

This week Campus Progress held their annual National Conference in Washington DC. Thousands of students from across the country gathered for a day of discussion panels, speakers, and networking events to tackle some of the biggest issues facing young people today. Big name speakers such as Senator John Edwards, U.S. Representatives Keith Ellison of Minnesota and Linda Sanchez of California addressed students on a myriad of important issues including the environment, the upcoming election, the economy, and more. This year Campus Progress reached out to offer scholarships and invitations to students at community colleges in an effort to engage more young voters. In future months Campus Progress plans to extend its reach even further to young voters without college educations.
