Student Groups Join Forces to Get Out the Vote

Date: 11/17/2008 4:28 pm

Citizens all over the country are becoming more involved with the upcoming election, and students are no different. Student groups nation wide are dedicating their energy to politics this semester. The Dartmouth College Republicans will be campaigning throughout the state of New Hampshire while Dartmouth Dems plan to focus their campaign efforts on the Dartmouth campus. Student groups at the University of Massachusetts have banded together to form a voter registration coalition; representatives from the Student Government Association, UMass Democrats, Civic Initiative, MassPIRG and the Women of Color Leadership Network have already signed on, and additional organizations such as the UMass Republican Club and Greek Affairs have also expressed interest in joining. A handful of students across the country have even taken the semester off to work on the campaign trail!
