An American exchange student from Stanford has become the target of large protests and conspiracy theories after writing an article on the gay rights movement in Uganda.  After her article was published in the Ugandan paper she’s interning at, more than 200 protesters gathered under a banner reading “Interfaith Rainbow Coalition against Homosexuality” calling on the journalist to be fired or even deported and for the local media to stop reporting on LGBT issues.
