Students at Columbia University have started a new online environmental journal called Consilience. The journal both promotes sustainable development across the globe and provides a forum for those interested in sustainable development worldwide. Run by a staff of about 25 Columbia students, the journal publishes scholarly articles, field notes, opinion pieces, and photo-essays on its Web site in an effort to initiate interdisciplinary discussions on sustainable development.
