Student Senate to Lower Pot Penalty

Some members of the new student government at the University of Maryland will push for drug-related policy reform when their session commences next year.  The group will focus first on reducing the penalty for marijuana use. The campaign to lessen pot penalties has been gaining momentum at the University since a student government-sponsored referendum found 65% of the school’s students in favor of change.
