Seniors enrolled in the University of Washington’s Community, Environment and Planning Program are conducting neighborhood research and holding community workshops in an effort to clean up Seattle’s heavily polluted Duwamish River, one of the most hazardous sites in the country. Acting as consultants for the Duwamish River Cleanup Coalition, students are working with community members from the banks of the river to decide the course of future cleanup and revitalization efforts.
