In July of 2007 two Ohio State students, along with friends and family, traveled to Cusco, Peru to visit Casa Mantay, a shelter for sexually abused women and children. The group traveled to the Casa Mantay to donate nursery equipment and perform repairs to the shelter during their week-long stay. Upon returning home, the students started the Mantay America Foundation, a group dedicated to fundraising for Casa Mantay. On behalf of the foundation, the students have been selling lime-green rubber bracelets on campus for $3 each – the cost of feeding one mother and child for an entire day. All proceeds will be donated to Casa Mantay. Read more from Ohio State University |
