Education Alliance, a University of Rochester student group, spent a week alerting their campus to programs that help address the needs of Rochester City Schools. The Sigma Nu Fraternity, University Health Services, Afro-Expressions, Amnesty International, and the Sigma Beta Rho Fraternity also contributed to the week. Education Alliance President Eric Hansen felt that students often plan to make a difference once they’re out of college, so the event (called Education Week) was designed to "convince people that they can make a huge difference right here, right now, in the Rochester community."
