Every year students pay highly publicized homage to Martin Luther King, Jr.—but students honor other nonviolent civil rights leaders as well. At the University of Arizona, the Department of Mexican-American Studies walked in the seventh Annual Cesar E. Chávez Holiday Coalition March in honor of the Chicano activist and founder of the United Farm Workers of America. Students from the University of New Mexico also marched in celebration of the activist.
