Students Hope to Foster Campaign Support

The Killer Coke Campaign attempts to force Coke to be more responsible for worker justice and environmental concerns by banning Coke products from campuses. Vassar College’s chapter is a joint effort of several student groups, including the Vassar Green Party, Movimiento Estudiantil Chicano/a de Aztlán (MEChA), the Vassar Greens, and the Student Activist Union. At present, the Chair of the Campus Food Committee is not convinced that the Killer Coke Campaign has broad-based support on campus, so the Vassar Greens sponsored a campus visit by justice activist Ray Rogers in order to build popular campaign momentum.
