Students Lobby State Capitols

Date: 11/17/2008 05:28 pm

Students from Arizona colleges and universities joined forces to lobby state legislators on the Arizona Students' Association's 20th annual Student Lobby Day.  Lobbyists spoke on bills regarding financial aid, censorship, and education. The Associated Students of the University of New Mexico (ASUNM) also encouraged students to lobby, busing them to New Mexico’s state capitol to lobby against a tuition increase. More than 120 students from the University of Washington participated in their Lobby Day—learning that some legislators seem more interested in hearing from students than others.
