Students Protest Firings
Date: 11/17/2008 05:28 pm
A small group of students at the University of Southern California protested the firing of the student staff of an on-campus bar, Traditions. The University says the firings were part of an effort to review the efficiency of the bar's management; the protesting students see it as the latest in “alarming trend of university decisions hindering their college lives.” Downsizing student seating for football games and intervention in the Daily Trojan’s editor-in-chief selection were cited as further evidence of the trend. Along with protesting outside the bar, students have organized a boycott through a “Boycott Traddies” Facebook group.
