Students Protest Smoking Ban

Date: 11/17/2008 05:28 pm

The chancellor of Pennsylvania's 14 state universities has expanded the state's new indoor smoking ban to include outdoor areas on campus. The action has sparked peaceful protests by students around the state, including Clarion University, Shippensburg University, and Kutztown University. Students received word of the ban by e-mail the day before a new state regulation forbidding indoor smoking took effect. According to the American Lung Association nearly 130 other schools have passed such a rule.
