Ohio State University graduate Melissa Stanley and University of Minnesota student Ole Hovde are running for their respective state legislatures this fall. Stanley majored in Political Science and was encouraged to run for office by a former professor who chairs the Franklin County Democratic Party. She is up against former Ohio Senator, Richard Adams. Ole Hovde is running against Democratic incumbent Phyllis Kahn, who has served 18 terms as the District 59B representative. Hovde is a junior at the University of Minnesota studying Political Science and owns his own small business.
