On February 4th and February 8th death threats were found scribbled on a gay student’s dorm room at Northern Arizona University--incidents that many feel bring to light the undercurrent of intolerance at the university and deficiencies in its protections for students (NAU is the only in-state university to not include the protection of gender identity and expression in its bylaws.) Following the incident, a meeting of dorm staff was held to discuss concerns about the threats and to organize a program to demonstrate support for the gay community.
