Students from colleges all over the country will ride their bicycles in the Illini 4000, a cross-country ride to raise money for cancer research. Starting in May, students will ride from New York to San Diego, hoping to raise $100,000. The money will be split between the American Cancer Society and Camp Kesem, an organization of summer camps for children whose parents have had cancer. Two students from the University of Illinois founded the race.
