Last week’s Hunger & Homelessness Awareness Week culminated Saturday in a DC walkathon sponsored by the Fannie May Foundation. George Washington University’s The Hatchet and Georgetown’s paper The Hoya both included coverage of the event. The Walkathon drew approximately 20,000 participants this year. Speakers at the event included the songstress/poet Jewel, who once lived in her car for a year.
