Each year, more and more students on college campuses are penalized for copyright infringement. The Recording Industry Association of America, RIAA, has been persistent in their search for IP addresses with transferable music. The University of Rochester reports receiving six to twelve notices of copyright infringement per week from the RIAA. The University of Rochester is changing its response to these letters in hopes of saving students from paying thousands in settlements to the recording industry.
