The feature The Daily Tar Heel of UNC Chapel Hill ran for its readership today considers the impact of the Iraq War on North Carolina, a very “military-friendly state.” To write this article, Julie Turkewitz interviewed (among others) the family of a 22-year old man from Chapel Hill who was killed in Iraq two years ago. As we think students’ Iraq debate will proceed better if all sides understand the pain and sacrifice of American military families, we highly recommend this article.
