The University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh has announced that it has become the first “Fair Trade University” in the country by committing itself to “ending trade injustices that result in millions of people living in poverty” worldwide. Nearly 70 European universities have already taken similar steps, and UW-Oshkosh is leading the way in the States. UW Oshkosh’s four governing bodies endorsed a resolution to sell Fair Trade Certified products whenever and wherever possible.
