The Lessons of Tragedy

The initial shock of the Virginia Tech shootings is beginning to wane, and students are starting to apply the lessons they’ve found in the tragedy. Students are holding speak-outs against violence, publishing assessments of campus security, beginning their own documentaries, and considering how universities should respond to the products of creative writing classes—among other things.
