The Many Faces of Immigration

Date: 11/17/2008 05:28 pm

A student at the University of California-Davis spoke with his student newspaper about life as an immigrant; Sule Anibaba, a junior African American and African Studies major, came to the United States from Nigeria when he was 13. Two undocumented (a.ka. “illegal”) immigrants at Arizona State University face the prospect of not being able to attend school next fall due to a proposition making illegal immigrants ineligible to receive tuition waivers or in-state tuition. A similar situation is reported on in Oregon; the Daily Emerald  covers efforts by the Oregon Student Association (and others) to create “tuition equality” in that state.
