U. Tennessee Student Indicted for Hacking Palin Emails
David Kernell, a student at the University of Tennessee was indicted by a federal grand jury for hacking into Governor Sarah Palin’s personal mail account. The indictment alleges that David reset the password to Palin’s email, gained access to it, and then posted the contents to a public Web site. David is the son of Tennessee state representative Mike Kernell (D) and an economics major. He has pled not guilty and has been released from custody until his trial. David faces a maximum for five years in prison, a $250,000 fine, and three years of supervised release. His trial is set for December 16.
