UC San Diego’s Free-Speech Policy to be Written by Students

Following strong opposition and allegations of unconstitutionality, the University of California San Diego’s controversial draft of a free-speech policy has been thrown out and the University has decided to opt for a new student-crafted version. A 16-member Revision Committee has been appointed to rewrite the policy, consisting of administrators, faculty, two Associated Students council members and one representative from the Graduate Student Association.
