The Fourth Annual United Students for Fair Trade International Convergence is taking place this week, drawing “hundreds of students, activists, industry partners, nonprofit organizations, fair trade enthusiasts, and producer representatives from around the world.” Fair trade, in this case, refers to products made under fair and safe working conditions; the movement is popular with students nationwide. Northeastern’s own Progressive Student Alliance (PSA) has been working to make their food service coffee fair trade certified, with mixed success.
