Unused Meals No Longer Donated

Arizona State University’s food provider, Sodexho, went back on a promise to donate the monetary equivalent of unused meals from ASU’s mandatory meal plan for student who chose to participate in the donation program. The company is citing excess bills, saying they are in no financial position to give money to charity. Students on ASU’s meal plan have threatened to use their meals to give out free food on campus, forcing the company to pay for the food regardless. ASU will be changing its food supplier next semester, though they say the decision is not related.
