The Pace Press reports that college and university administrations around the country are banning The Vagina Monologues. Playwright Eve Ensler created the work from 200 interviews with women from around the world; her stated purpose was helping to prevent violence toward women. A number of schools—especially Catholic ones—have declared the play to be “morally objectionable,” irreconcilable with a Catholic education, or too controversial. Perhaps most interesting, however, is a trend of schools that previously allowed the play banning it now. Read the article for more.
