In response to the national and global energy crisis, Washington State University’s College of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science is offering a renewable energy lab class beginning in the spring of 2009. The class is made possible through a grant of $150,000 from Puget Sound Energy Company, which the university hopes to use over the course of 4 years. Faculty who will teach the course are optimistic about their engineering students creating new technologies in the future to offset the use of oil.
