Who’s Watching Your Online Networking?

Rutgers University’s Daily Targum reports that the Department of Homeland Security is paying the University $3 million to develop ways of monitoring suspicious social networks and opinions found in news stories, blogs, and other online forums. In a somewhat less ominous networking development, university administrators are realizing that facebook.com can be a useful tool;  the vice-chancellor of UMass-Amherst has set up a Facebook group in hopes that students will use it to give feedback on proposed changes to the University's academic calendar.
