YouTube, arguably the most popular video-sharing website, is starting a college website that requires users to sign up using their “.edu” email addresses, according to an article from Ohio State University. YouTube College will allow users to post videos that will only be available to other users within their college. An article from New York University explores the growing trend of professors using their school email addresses to open accounts on Facebook. Finally, schools across the country—including Syracuse University—are beginning to experiment with making selected lectures available as podcasts. SU plans to offer the podcast technology to professors beginning in late April.
